SSIF Project Peace Gaza

The Shirin Sajmila International Foundation (SSIF) has undertaken an ambitious humanitarian project in Gaza, addressing the multifaceted crises faced by one of the world’s most vulnerable populations. The people of Gaza endure devastating hardships due to protracted conflict, blockades, and limited access to basic necessities. SSIF’s intervention focuses on providing immediate relief, fostering resilience, and laying the groundwork for long-term recovery.

Emergency Relief and Humanitarian Aid

SSIF’s emergency response in Gaza has directly supported over 20,000 individuals with life-saving assistance. By working with local partners, the initiative delivers critical resources such as food, clean water, and essential medicines to families in need. Shelters have been established to provide displaced individuals with safe havens amidst the ongoing turmoil.

One of the program's key components is providing free medical care, addressing the acute health crises resulting from injuries, malnutrition, and limited access to healthcare facilities. SSIF’s medical teams have gone house-to-house, documenting the medical needs of families and individuals to ensure tailored and continuous care. This personalized approach has made it possible to identify those requiring immediate attention and deliver resources efficiently.

Emergency Food Aid and Sustained Nutritional Support

In response to the acute food insecurity in Gaza, SSIF has distributed emergency food packages to over 25,000+  ensuring immediate relief from hunger. Beyond emergency supplies, the foundation has initiated a daily meal program, providing consistent food support to families who have lost their livelihoods. These efforts ensure that vulnerable populations, particularly children, receive the nutrition necessary for survival and development amidst the harsh conditions of the region.

Menstrual Hygiene Kits: Preserving Dignity and Health
SSIF recognizes the critical importance of menstrual hygiene in maintaining the dignity and health of women and girls in humanitarian crises. To address this often-overlooked need, the foundation has distributed menstrual hygiene kits to thousands of women and girls in Gaza. These kits include sanitary napkins, reusable pads, and educational materials on menstrual health, helping to dismantle stigma while ensuring women and girls can continue their daily lives without interruption.

Counseling and Therapy

Understanding the psychological toll of living under constant conflict, SSIF has integrated psychosocial care into its Gaza program. Counseling sessions and community-based support groups have been established, offering individuals—especially women and children—a safe space to process their trauma. Through workshops and activities, the initiative promotes resilience, strengthens mental well-being, and helps restore a sense of community.

Stories of Resilience: Lives Touched by Aid

The impact of these initiatives is best reflected in the lives transformed by them. One story highlights a mother of three who lost her husband during the conflict. With no source of income, she relied on SSIF’s food packages and hygiene kits to sustain her family. “The food saved us when we had nothing, and the hygiene kits gave my daughters and me a sense of dignity in our darkest days,” she shared.

Another story comes from a young boy who received consistent meals through the daily food program. Malnourished and unable to concentrate on his studies, he now attends school with renewed focus and energy. These stories exemplify how targeted aid can restore hope and build resilience in the most challenging circumstances.
